In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Study Abroad.”
Even before my year abroad in España I would have said to take any opportunity you have to travel and go somewhere new! And now after being abroad for almost a year, I still stand by that statement.
The way I see it is like this: we live in a big world. Huge. Like really think about it. Wherever you are in the world, there is life happening 20 miles from you. 200 miles from you. 2,000 miles from you. Whether it is a different city, state, country, or continent. Knowing that, and knowing that whatever other people are doing and experiencing is different than your life, is interesting and exciting. And if you have the opportunity to travel and see some of those places, wouldn’t you go and do that?
Thinking about traveling and seeing different parts of the world is extremely exciting to me. One of my life goals is to make it to all of the continents, except maybe Antarctica…a tad cold. But still, that leaves PLENTY of the world to be discovered. Granted this past year in Spain wasn’t exactly studying abroad, but it could definitely fall under that category. This year has also completely set ablaze my desire to continue traveling and seeing different parts of the world.
If you have the opportunity to study abroad…do it. Go and have an adventure!
If you could go anywhere…where would your first stop be?
