All the Noms.

Are you a picky eater?

I wouldn’t consider myself to be a picky eater, but I do have my moments. I’ve been known to use this phrase when describing the things I will and will not eat: “if it doesn’t look good, it probably doesn’t taste good. So I’m not eating it.” This to me definitely sounds like the musings of a picky eater, and yet I eat almost everything! Living in Spain I have definitely learned about the things I will not eat though. Let’s explore this 🙂

Mayonnaise. First of all, who decided on this spelling? It is ridiculous. And this condiment is ridiculous as well. I don’t know exactly what it is about mayo that I don’t like, but I know that if it is in a dish, there is a very high likelihood that I will not eat more than one bite. Don’t ask me why, but the Spanish people love their mayo. Nope I’m sorry, I will pass on this one.

Any sort of tail or rear of an animal. Why would I want to eat an animal’s bottom? I know they are “supposedly” tasty and even considered to be delicacies, but I am not going to eat that. Thanks though, more for you!

These are the only things that I can really come up with, even though I am certain there are more. All that said, I have eaten mayonnaise and tried a tiny bite of rabo de toro, bull’s tail (that was for you Dad!). I cannot say that I enjoy when mayo is incorporated into a meal, but I’m an adult and can handle it. After trying the rabo de toro, it wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be, but I also know that I will not be ordering it any time soon.

Would you consider yourself a picky eater? What are some foods that are not on your favorites list?
